A male transvestite suffered a broken nose and threats to his life during an attack in Newham

Detectives are now appealing for information and witnesses to the unprovoked attack in Green Street at 1.30am on May 16.

The 30-year-old victim was waiting at a bus stop when a man got out of a car and asked: "How much do you want?" before violently assaulting him.

During the attack he could her could hear passengers in the car shouting "kill him, kill him".

Police have described the suspect as an Asian male, aged between 17 and 20 and around 5ft 4ins tall.

He was wearing a brown jumper, brown trousers and a blue cap.

Detective Constable Ben Rouse, said: "This suspect is clearly willing to use violence against innocent members of the community.

"I urge anyone who has information that can assist our enquiries to contact us on 101 or by calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

"Alternatively you can contact Galop - the LGBT anti-violence charity via their website Galop.org.uk in confidence."
