Three A Level students - Harriet Hansard, Honor Palmer-Tomkinson and Georgemma Hunt - raised more than £3,500 between them through the challenge on Saturday, May 30.

Glamour model turned body builder Jodie Marsh also made a surprise appearance and brother and sister team Emily and Alfred Jennings took on the challenge - abseiling at the same time as each other.

The total amount raised will go towards lifelong support for our forces and their families.

An SSAFA spokeswoman said: "SSAFA had a fantastic team of 50 participants who enjoyed an incredible abseil experience overlooking London last Saturday and we expect the event to raise £10,000.

"We could not deliver what we do without the immensely generous efforts of our supporters, such as those who took part and I’d like to thank them for their courage and commitment.

"Every penny will be used to help us to continue to provide practical, emotional and financial support for the 55,000 people with a Forces connection that we help every year."
