The InterContinental London - The O2 has opened the doors to its luxurious hotel on the Greenwich Peninsula.
General manager Hasham Soliman said the 453-room building, complete with five bars and restaurants inspired by Greenwich’s heritage, would make sure it was “on London’s centre stage.”
Guests can chose to stay in a standard room or one of 59 suites which boat expansive view of the capital from the hotel’s location on the river.
Meanwhile, both the Market Brasserie and The Peninsula Restaurant face the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf while the 270-degree windows in the Clipper Bar and the 18th floor sky bar offer further havens for those eager to soak up the sights.
Hasham Soliman said: “We are thrilled to have opened the doors to our eagerly awaited luxury hotel in one of the capital’s most vibrant new entertainment and events districts. At InterContinental London – The O2, we have truly exceptional facilities for business and leisure travellers visiting the city and an incredible team ready to put this hotel firmly on London’s centre stage.”
Those booking a business stay can take advantage of a dedicated conference centre, 19 meeting rooms, an organisers office and a 1,600sqm pre-function space with views of Canary Wharf.
There’s also one of Europe’s largest, pillar free ballrooms - measuring 3,100sqm - to make use of after the deal has been done.
The hotel lie 400m from North Greenwich underground station and North Greenwich Pier for easy access into central London.
Chief Executive Europe at IHG Angela Brav said: “We are enormously proud to welcome InterContinental London – The O2 to the InterContinental brand family.
“Our guests love our hotels for their outstanding restaurants, incredible locations and cosmopolitan design, all of which are perfectly encapsulated in this hotel.”
InterContinental London – The O2 will operate under a franchise agreement with Meridian Hotel Operations Limited and will be managed by a division of the Arora Group.
