Anyone interested in working with horses should head to Greenwich on June 13 for Hadlow College’s open day for the Royal Borough of Greenwich Equestrian Skills and Riding Centre at Shooters Hill.

There are a variety of courses available - from working as a groom to working in equine welfare and therapy.

A riding school has also been set up at the centre, with discounted rates for local residents who want to try out riding through a bursary scheme and also through an adult education programme.

Greenwich Council cllr Sizwe James said: “This is a first class facility in the borough and I really urge people to come along to the open day to see it for themselves.

"Anyone in the borough considering their further education options, or who are looking to train in the equine sector really should come along and see what’s on offer – it could open a whole new career path.”
