A teenage girl was sexually assaulted twice on the same bus route in Tower Hamlets.

Police want to identify the man pictured after a 15-year-old girl was the victim of two sex assaults within a mater of months.

The exact date of the first incident is not known, but believed to have been in January or February at about 7pm.

The second incident took place on Saturday, March 14 at 6.30pm.

On both occasions the suspect boarded a route 339 bus at Martha Street, Shadwell and sat next to the victim. He sexually assaulted her before getting off the bus.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned Asian man wearing a dark brown leather jacket and a black and grey beanie hat.

Police officers ask anyone with information to contact PC Naomi Goodman, who is leading the investigation on 07534 259 243 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting reference 175801.

A police spokesman said: “Unwanted sexual behaviour on the transport network is not tolerated and all sexual offences are taken very seriously. Always report incidents of this nature to the police.”
