Developer Galliford Try will build more than 1,000 homes in Royal Docks after being selected by the Mayor of London as a partner for its Silvertown Way scheme.

Following completion, the development, which has an approximate value of £380million, will provide 1,100 homes split between a series of blocks.

Subject to planning agreement, there are also plans for a hotel, restaurant and commercial space alongside the apartments.

Silvertown Way will be delivered through an existing joint venture with Thames Valley Housing Association.

Around 380 affordable homes will be constructed for London and Quadrant Housing Association, while a third of the total properties built will be for private rent, through Thames Valley subsidiary Fizzy Living.

Galliford Try’s subsidiary Linden Homes and Galliford Try Partnerships will be responsible for construction.

Work is expected to start on the Newham site in early 2016, with the first residents arriving in 2018.
