The Wharf Wedding Fayre saw prospective brides and grooms zeroed in on Henry’s Cafe Bar on Saturday, November 7.
There were plenty of businesses to choose from, ranging from photographers and cakes to beauty products and light decorations.
There were also prizes to be won. The 10th bride through the door received a bottle of Champagne, the 20th bride won a Molton Brown gift set and one groom and his best man were treated to a golf day at Selsdon Park.
The 10th bride
Charlotte Hemborough came to the fayre with her friends.
She said: “It’s fantastic – I knew there were prizes to be won, but I thought it will never be me winning.
“We are getting married in April 2017, so I came to get ideas really.
“We have decided on a church wedding in my home county of Somerset. It will be a country style wedding with spring flowers to fit.”
The 20th bride
Joanna Fowler and fiance Ray Aherne have their venue booked in The City for their wedding on September 17, 2016.
Joanna said: “This was a really nice surprise. We’ve come here today looking for the extra bits and pieces to add to our venue. It’s a really nice intimate place in The City.”
Groom and best man golf day at Selsdon Park
Xiaohan Fang and his finance Joanne Chung from Barking are getting married on May 21, 2016.
Xiaohan said: “I’m not great at golf – I have been to the driving range to hit a few buckets before, but one seems to do me just fine. It’s good to win though and it’ll get me out the house.”
Joanne said: “We still have a few things we need and I wanted to bring him along to this one as he hasn’t been to any wedding fayres with me yet and I thought this one is a bit smaller so he would be ok with it.”
