Women working in Canary Wharf can get advice from the estate’s security team on "urban evacuation" at a safety event held during Counter Terrorism Awareness Week 2015.

The team from Canary Wharf Group (CWG) will also provide information on how to travel to and from work safely.

The class - organised by Personal Safety London, the Met Police and CWG - has also been designed to teach City workers self defence techniques ahead of darker nights and the Christmas party season.

There will be talks from experts on what to look out for, advice on getting home safely and tips on keeping you and your belongings safe.

Attendees will be shown self-defence demonstrations featuring techniques and strategies needed that include disengaging and removing yourself from the most common types of attacks.

From Monday, November 23 to Sunday, November 29 the Met will be on the streets of London to inform the public about the terrorism threat and what can be done to tackle it.

The campaign comes shortly after 130 people were killed in an ISIS attack in Paris.

The threat level to the UK from international terrorism remains at severe, which means an attack is highly likely. The UK has been operating at this level since August 2014.

The event will be held from 6pm-8.30pm on Wednesday, November 25 at the East Wintergarden.
