Four teenagers have been arrested in connection which a serious assault at Stratford station which caused chaos at the transport hub.
Police swooped in to the station after a man was found unconscious and with serious head injuries in the subway between the station and Westfield Stratford City.
A 16-year-old boy, 15-year-old boy and two 14-year-old boys have all been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and currently remain in custody.
There was a huge crush in the station after police closed off the walkway to help the man and investigate the incident, with some people reportedly getting trampled.
Commuter Peggy Loo tweeted: “Complete chaos at Stratford station, people getting trampled.”
And later Matt Sweet tweeted: “After tonight’s fun god help us all if there is ever a fire or terrorist attack at Stratford station - we’re all dead! Have a think @TfL.”
A British Transport Police spokesman said: “BTP said we were called to Stratford Overground station at 5.30pm (on Tuesday) following reports of an unconscious male.
“The male, who has yet to be identified, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries where he remains in a serious condition.”
