Paramedics were called to The Loft, based on the third floor of a building on Commercial Road, on December 19 and treated a number of people for injuries.
Tower Hamlets Police also attended and afterwards used anti-social behaviour powers to bring a hearing to the magistrates court.
Tower Hamlets Council supported the Met's application for closure. Thames Magistrates Court also heard there had been drugs seized from the bar during a previous visit by the authorities. The court granted the closure notice.
Owner of The Loft, Husshan Uddin, was also found guilty of allowing smoking in an enclosed space and fined £2,000 as well as being ordered to pay £2,500 in costs.
The council's cabinet member for community safety Cllr Ohid Ahmed said: "It is important that we work together to ensure all businesses within Tower Hamlets operate within the law.
"It is good to see that our system to police these offences are working effectively."
