Schools across east London were closed after they had no running water. The outage affected thousands of people across east London.
Thames Water has issued a notice to customers in places including Whitechapel, Stratford, Hackney and Bethnal Green informing them of the problems.
Thames Water said: “We’re sorry to customers in the following postal code areas who are experiencing no water or low water pressure.
“This is due to a power outage at a site local to you, our engineers are on route and your supply will return to normal as soon as possible.”
The problem has been sorted, said Thames Water, but it would take a while for the system to come back to full power.
Tower Hamlets confirmed that 10 schools had closed.
