Commuters in east London faced another miserable journey to work as a signal failure left the Central line in chaos yet again.
Transport for London issued a statement which read: “We apologise for the disruption caused to our customers using the Central line this morning.
“The disruption was caused by a signal failure at Leyton at around 7.30am. Our engineers are working hard to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.”
At lunchtime, there were still problems with TfL reporting: “Severe delays due to emergency engineering work earlier at Leyton. Tickets valid on local buses, Abellio Greater Anglia, TfL Rail, Chiltern Railways and Great Western Railway.”
