Bermondsey coffee shop F**koffee has been threatened with court action over its controversial shop front.

A letter sent by lawyers acting on behalf of the building’s owners accuses the business of putting the sign up without permission, and demands the “offensive” sign should be taken down and destroyed.

It read: “If you or your sub-tenant do not immediately remove the sign above the property shop front ‘F**koffee’, and make good any damage caused to the exterior of the building, our client will have no option but to remove the sign themselves or issue court proceedings seeking an injunction requiring you to remove the sign.”

F**koffee’s management could not be contacted but the business’s twitter feed posted a picture of the letter with the caption: “No humour please, we’re British.”
