A comic book super fan arrived in London, along with his larger-than-life, hand-made suit inspired by Iron Man’s Hulkbuster armor from the latest Marvel Avengers movie.

The replica Hulkbuster armour stands at a gigantic 9.6ft tall and 6ft wide and was made over a two-year period by Thomas DePetrillo of Extreme Costumes.

Thomas and his creation were in London for the launch of the Sky Movies Christmas experience at Sky Studios in The O2, where iconic movie scenes from Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron are bought to life.

Fans can see Thomas in his Super Hero costume at Sky Studios on Saturday, December 5.

Touching down in the capital, DePetrillo wasted no time in donning his suit and surprising Londoners and tourists in a tour of the city.

After taking in the sights at The O2 , Thomas travelled to the South Bank and then over Tower Bridge – attracting attention from bemused onlookers along the way.

“I’m incredibly excited to bring my costume to London,” he said. “Since it is the first time the suit has been to the city, I thought it would be great to get to know London and have been visiting some of the capital’s most famous spots.

“I can’t wait to meet the fans. Here, you can take on robot drones in Iron Man’s Hulkbuster armour. It’s a really cool experience.”

Families with children are encouraged to attend the free Sky Studios event, which closes on February 10. People can take part in augmented and virtual reality experiences from the latest Disney Cinderella and Marvel Avengers films.
