He’s come along way since his days as a Newham schoolboy – but Idris Elba is back to selling clothes at an east London market.
Admittedly, the Hollywood heartthrob’s clobber is distinctly upmarket but he celebrated with a London knees-up.
The star of Luther, Thor and The Wire has always had a sideline as a DJ and now he’s selling his sense of fashion too at a pop-up in Boxpark , Shoreditch, with the help of Superdry. In 2015, he was named one of GQ magazine’s 50 best dressed British men and was awarded an OBE in January .
Fans gathered in Shoreditch on Sunday, August 14, for the launch of the line where the 43-year-old superstar gave a DJ set. Among the celebrity guests were actors Sienna Guillory and Richard Madden – Robb Stark from Game Of Thrones – and Superdry founder Julian Dunkerton.
His latest blockbuster is on hold though. Bastille Day has been pulled from French cinemas following the July 14terror attacks in Nice. The film was late on release in the UK earlier this year after the Paris terror attacks in November.
