Detectives investigating an assault on a sales assistant at an east London petrol station have released CCTV images of four men they wish to speak to.

At 6pm on Wednesday, February 11, three men entered the shop at the Texaco garage in The Highway, Wapping while a fourth man stood outside.

Staff at the shop confronted the men as they believed they were responsible for a previous theft.

As the men attempted to leave the shop, one of them hit an employee across the head. The victim did not require hospital treatment.

The suspects are described as Asian and of slim build. One was aged in his late teens and was wearing a black jacket, jeans, black trainers and a grey baseball cap.

The second suspect was wearing a black hooded top, a puff-style jacket, blue tracksuit trousers and was carrying a black bag.

The third wore a beige top, blue jeans, black trainers and a black hat. He was carrying a beige bag.

The fourth man – who remained outside the shop – wore a maroon jacket, black trousers and white trainers.
