The moment a man was crushed under a car after it was was hit by a passing bus has been caught on CCTV.

According to the Evening Standard the victim - 52-year-old Hussain Musoke - suffered a shattered ankle, punctured lung and two broken ribs after he was smashed against metal gates while walking near to his home.

Newham Police are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident which happened in Covelees Wall, Beckton, at about 12.30pm on Saturday, September 26.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward and in particular they would like to hear from the driver of a black Mercedes motor vehicle which had come to stop and was in the process of reversing just before the collision.

“They would also like to speak to any passengers who were on the bus at the time of the collision.”

No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
