British Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted following an argument on a packed DLR train during rush hour.
Detective constable Helen Parsfield said: “A 26-year-old woman, from Newham, boarded a train headed for Stratford International shortly before 8.30am. During the journey, she and a male passenger became engaged in a verbal confrontation in the busy carriage.
“At Canning Town, the woman was assaulted by the man as she went to leave the train. The assault caused damage to the women’s front teeth, bruising to her face and a cut to her lip. Her glasses were also broken.”
Officers are appealing for the public’s assistance in identifying a man from CCTV images.
