Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines are opening a 6,000sq ft bar that “aims to encapsulate the hospitality offered on a long-haul flight" at The O2 this July.

The airlines - which are the official partners of The O2 - will base NY-LON Lounge Bar on their New York to London routes.

The lounge has a capacity of 300, while a private space is also available to hire for smaller events.

Senior vice president of marketing and customer experience at Virgin Atlantic, Reuben Arnold said: “We’ve created NY-LON as a celebration of our trans-Atlantic network.

"Our lounge bar will offer customers a brand new experience at The O2 that showcases our airlines’ world-class service.”

Delta’s senior vice president of marketing, Tim Mapes, said: “The iconic cities of New York and London are at the heart of everything we do.

"Opening NY-LON is the next exciting step in our partnership and we look forward to helping travellers enjoy the Delta-Virgin Atlantic brand of hospitality for which we’re famous when they next visit The O2.”
