A woman is being sought by police after a lady was punched in the face and threatened with a syringe in Tower Hamlets.

Officers are appealing for information on Aisha Bangs, 32, following the attack on a woman in her 20s in Ramsey Street.

At around 6.30pm on Friday, June 3, the victim entered the lift at a block of flats when she was approached by a woman who immediately began threatening her with the syringe.

She was trapped in the lift and was then punched several times before she was grabbed by the hair and dragged out.

The victim managed to break free before running away and calling the police.

Clumps of hair were ripped from her head but she did not receive any serious injuries.

Officers were told that there was a white man present who did not take part in the assault.
