A man has been arrested after police launched a murder probe following the death of a woman in east London.
Officers in Newham were called to a house in Eversleigh Road, East Ham, at 8.12pm on Thursday, 30 July, following reports of a female with injuries to her head and upper body.
Paramedics attended the scene but were unable to save her life.
The victim has not been formerly identified although police are believed to be in the process of informing her next of kin.
Following her death officers launched a murder investigation led by Detective Chief Inspector Rob Pack from the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command.
In the early hours of Friday, July 31, a man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody at an east London police station.
No further details about the man are available at this time.
