A man has been arrested as police begin a murder investigation in Tower Hamlets.
Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Greatorex Street, at 6.38pm on Monday, September 14 following reports of a stabbing.
Officers and London Air Ambulance attended and found a man in his 40s suffering from critical stab injuries to the upper body. He died at the scene a short while later.
Next-of-kin have been informed and post-mortem examination will take place in due course. Formal identification awaits.
A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been taken to hospital for the treatment of a hand injury. He will subsequently be taken to an east London police station for questioning.
The police believe the victim and suspect were known to each other. Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.
