It may be dark and cold outside, but in the fashion world spring and summer 2015 has been shining away for months.

We trawled through the stores around Canary Wharf and east London to find the best places to pick up next season's trends.

The 70s seem to be everywhere - from relaxed hippy deluxe, like this ensemble (above) from Marks and Spencer (top £35, trousers £49.50) to flashy Saturday Night Fever pieces like the Darya dazzling clutch from Oliver Bonas (£34), which can be easily incorporated into an outfit.

Keep it simple with monochrome pieces, like the bouclé trim dress (£250) from Jaeger, which would be perfect for work.

A look which is a little harder to pull off is the popular Oriental style, but Accessorize's subtle and rather floaty Carmela Aztec printed kimono (£32) could easily be paired with a pair of jeans for a relaxed Saturday.

Denim is also huge this season - and this time it's back in fashion in all varieties of garment-form. There's tailored and military jackets and shirtdresses, with many pieces also featuring additional details to them - like shearling, cutwork and crystals.

For anyone still craving a little romance following Valentine's Day, romantic lace can be found everywhere. Our favourite was the understated Selena embroidered playsuit (£32) from Accessorize.

Nautical styles are also back (although it seems they never go away) and very easy to create a work appropriate outfit with - try some guapo penny leather loafers (£75) from Dune or the seersucker stripe cotton-blend jacket (£325) from Paul Smith.

Finally, vintage fabrics focus on a mixture of contrasts and with east London's markets brimming with vintage pieces on our very doorstep, there's plenty to choose from - like this navajo print day dress (£34) from Beyond Retro (right).
