Canary Wharf's Maplin staff are encouraging shoppers to make their homes smarter over the Bank Holiday.
Techical experts dubbed Maplineers will be demonstrating simple ways to remotely control lights, heating and other appliances from a tablet or smart phone.
The event, which runs from Saturday, May 23 to Monday, May 25, ties in with the retailer's Ask Maplin brand campaign.
Store manager, Darryl Nugent, said: “It’s really easy to control the lighting, heating and other appliances in your home with just a click of a button, which means you’re not wasting money on energy if you’re not at a home.
“We’ve loads of advanced but affordable products available in this massively growing area, and our Maplineers are on hand in-store throughout the bank holiday weekend to offer their expertise and show you how easy it is to do.”
