Bali is beautiful but there are a lot of picturesque pockets on this Indonesian island.

We’ve whittled down everything from barbecues on the beach to temples and traditional dances to bring you our top five must-sees.

Our holiday vibes have been inspired by the World Travel Market at The Excel , which runs until Thursday, November 5.

Monkey forest, Ubud

1. Monkey Forest, Ubud

If you’re a fan of these cheeky chappies, this leafy park is a must.

Spot a variety of monkeys scaling the trees and nabbing sunglasses from the heads of confused tourists.

The flea market nearby is perfect to pick up any last minute souvenirs.

Beach Banquet at Jimbaran Bay

2. Beach Banquet at Jimbaran Bay

This is no ordinary fishy feast.

A handful of the restaurants nestled on the beachfront deck out al fresco tables with candles and huge evening platters of everything from shrimp to sea bream and snapper, all freshly caught.

Bands often pitch up too.

Kecak dance

3. Kecak Fire Dance at Uluwatu Temple

There’s fire, strange characters and plenty of action on stage, all set against the Balinese sunset.

You might not understand the action but experiencing the tradition is something special.

Audiences are huddled together on the auditorium steps so there’s a Balinese buzz around the half-hour performance.

Pura Tanah Lot

4. Pura Tanah Lot

This is one truly stunning temple.

Part of the footpath gets covered with the ocean tides so, at times, it’s out of bounds.

But the rugged scenery, lively tile colours and stone sculptures offer opportunities for pictures.

Kuta Beach

5. Kuta beach

If you’re a surfer babe this is the place to see and be seen.

Here you’ll find stretches of gold sand and picture perfect seas with a Ripcurl Surf School on hand for lessons.

Otherwise, there are loungers and parasols for those seeking chill time.
