A two-day fitness pop-up is set to bring a fusion of ballet, Pilates, yoga and core conditioning to the East End.
Founder Paola Di Lanzo will run Paola’s BodyBarre (PBB) sessions at The Refinery in Hackney on September 26 and October 3, showcasing the three most popular variants of her discipline.
She said having established a firm following in Parson’s Green the move west had been prompted by demand on Instagram for east London classes.
In response she arranged the classes at the fitness studio in Collent Street.
PBB Barre Below, which uses Pilates-inspired moves to sculpt the legs and glutes, PBB Barre Signature, a low impact, classic barre method (think ballerinas holding horizontal bars) and PBB Barre Blast a fast-paced, fat burning session, will all be on offer.
Paola said: “There are lots of different barre classes out there and some can be very boring.
“We keep it fresh by keeping people moving.
“It’s really fun, high energy and done to a lot of fun music – each movement flows from one to the other so there’s no stopping and starting
“There are so many different things you can do on the barre so we have such a variety of exercises.
“You get the combination of a fitness class mixed with the postural benefits of yoga and Pilates and conditioning so you get a bit of everything. We even do some shadow boxing.”
The 44-year-old said she hoped the pop-up would lead to a more permanent East End presence for her classes.
Those attending can opt to participate in one (£10), two (£15) or all three sessions (£20).
Each attendee will also receive a goodie bag.
