Richard Wentworth - Globe (1995-8)
Paralleling docks and clocks, Richard Wentworth celebrates Canary Wharf industry past and present.

The artist is famed for juxtaposing everyday objects to put his own slant on the way his audience view their surroundings.
He said: "Geographical good fortune is the source of London's success and in its previous form West India docks was central to that. Two hundred years later it is international time zones which dictate the ebb and flow of business life at Canary Wharf."
Globe is a series of oversized clocks hung along Westferry Road, in the shadow of Canary Wharf.
Each clock shows the time in a different world city.
