Martin Richman - Float (2002)
The Velvet Underground, Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd are just a few of high profile artists to benefit from the work of Martin Richman.
The installation artist started out as a lighting designer for the music industry.
His work in Canary Wharf has transformed the previously uninspiring DLR underpass at North Colonnade.

Commissioned to create an uplifting environment to relieve a gloomy space, he had to be sensitive to the commuters who use the area on a daily basis.
The permanent artwork is made up of three areas of floating panels with pink and violet light spilling through.
Martin has been producing domestic pieces, site specific sculpture and public art since 1985.
He has just completed his first public installation in America, Shimmer Field at the Lexington Avenue Bridge in San Antonio.
