Firms in Stratford town centre have agreed to create a Business Improvement District to promote the area.

The deal means nearly 250 businesses will pay a levy of up to 1.5% of their rateable value each year to the scheme.

Murder arrest after body found in car in Deptford

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was seen attempting to throw a body in the Thames at Deptford Wharf.

Officers were called to the scene at 3am on Friday and stopped a car at nearby Evelyn Street. They found a man with severe head injuries inside the vehicle.

The creator of an app that keeps all your loyalty cards in your phone is hoping to expand it across Canary Wharf stores.

The app can already be used at phone technology repair shop, iSmash, but founder Dev Subrata, says he plans to introduce it across the estate soon.

I was called in to see Master A's teacher at pick-up on Friday. Although small in stature, she has an almighty presence and is thoroughly intimidating.

She just has to look at me, with her withering stare, to reduce me to a quivering wreck. Heaven knows how my little boy survives in class.

The London Assembly has voted to investigate concerns about the relationship between Mayor of London Boris Johnson's inward investment arm and ABP, the Chinese developer which landed the contract to redevelop land neighbouring Royal Albert Dock.

The deal has come under fire with suggestions the relationship between London & Partners and ABP was too "cosy" and the tender process flawed.

A Tower Hamlets school has been placed into special measures by education watchdog Ofsted over concerns about a sixth form Islamic society's links to radical preachers.

Sir John Cass Foundation and Redcoat Church of England School in Stepney is accused of failing its safeguarding duties after not monitoring the society's online activity. It is the first school outside Birmingham to be failed on such safeguarding issues.
