Tributes paid to former Wharf reporter

Friends and colleagues of a journalist formerly at The Wharf have paid tribute to him following his sudden death at the age of 29.

Alan Lodge worked for this newspaper between 2003 and 2006 before moving on to write about the drinks industry. He was later news editor at The Drinks Business.

Powell 002.JPGCharlton have confirmed former player Chris Powell as their new manager.

Powell, who has been working as first team coach at Leicester City under Sven Goran Eriksson, has signed a three-and-a-half year contract and will officially take up the post on Monday.
