Plans to transform Silvertown Quays by bringing in businesses, brands and building 3,000 new homes have been submitted.


Activists, residents and green campaigners are calling for the closure of London City Airport and its replacement with a sustainable neighbourhood.

They converged on The Crystal under the airport's flight path last week to launch a report by independent think-tank New Economics Foundation that makes the case that the airport's closure would make financial as well as environmental sense.

Latest plans for the proposed regeneration of Silvertown Quays will be shown to the public next week.


A deal has been struck which is set to bring the world's biggest brands to Newham.

Silvertown Quays will be the base for a number top companies to show off their products in an innovative brand park after the Greater London Authority signed a £1.5billion deal for the area's dramatic regeneration.
