Allegations of racism have been made following Charlton's defeat to Birmingham City in London on Saturday.

A supporter in the home end is believed to have aimed the abuse at a Charlton player. The incident was reported to match stewards and a suspect was handed over to local police officers.

Charlton Athletic have spoken out about the jailing of seven fans for singing songs onboard a train praising those responsible for the killing of Stephen Lawrence.

David Bone, pictured, 23 of Tivoli Gardens in Woolwich, was one of those sentenced at Blackfriars Crown Court on Wednesday after being found guilty of racially aggravated fear of violence.


The Met Police's decision to sack an officer accused of making racially offensive comments while on duty has been welcomed by London Assembly Member John Biggs.

PC Kevin Hughes was found not guilty of the charges by Westminster Magistrates but was dismissed by the force for gross misconduct.
