A police raid saw up to 800 cannabis plants, imitation firearms and ammunition seized as part of a crackdown on gangs in Newham.

The intelligence-led bust took place on June 25 at an industrial site on Newham Way. Two men in their 20s were arrested.

Dawn raids targetting gangs in Newham on Thursday saw police make 13 arrests, as well as seize drugs and a hunting knife.

The intelligence-led operation took place at addresses across the borough and those arrested were taken to an east London police station for questioning.

Drug cops discovered 600 cannabis plants at an address in Tower Hamlets.

The bust took place at a home in Uamvar Street near Langdon Park DLR on Monday after officers received information about drug activity. The top two floors had been turned into a cannabis factory.


Police across Tower Hamlets raided 10 properties in the borough as part of a campaign across London to tackle drug gangs.

Community-led intelligence was used to target the homes, including two in West India Dock Road and one in Millharbour. Four people were arrested and are currently in custody.

aaron morris142.jpgTwo men from Tower Hamlets have been jailed for eight years each for being part of a gang involved in a plan to steal £5million of drugs.

Aaron Morris, 22, of Fawe Street and Mark Morris, 37, of East India Dock Road, were sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on Friday after pleading guilty to conspiracy to rob and conspiracy to supply controlled drugs.
