If Charlton hoped their relegation fears were just a bad dream then they were given a big pinch by Barnsley at The Valley on Tuesday night.

The Yorkshiremen got a first goal against the run of play before fluking a second to give them a vital three points against their rivals for the drop.

It was no merry trip to the seaside for Charlton as they suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of promotion-chasing Brighton.

Saturday's result leaves the Addicks just one point from the relegation zone, though with two games in hand over local rivals Millwall in 22nd place.

Charlton's new manager Jose Riga said he still doesn't know if he will be at The Valley next year but admits he's enjoying life in England.

Victory over Yeovil on Tuesday night saw the Belgian's fourth win since taking over from Chris Powell and the Addicks are now two points clear of the relegation zone with two games in hand.
