Over recent weeks, the Isle of Dogs has been subject to continuous traffic hold-ups caused by roadworks, in one case resulting from damage to a sewer.

Near Westferry Circus there was a temporary traffic signal next to a bus stop.

Police are hunting four people who punched, kicked and spat on a bus driver in Newham.

The incident took place at Stratford Bus Station on April 27, at about 1.50pm. The driver was in charge of the 25 bus when an argument broke out.



Is the bus on the way out? Bus use fell everywhere in Britain in 2013 - except for London. Wales saw 2.16million fewer bus journeys than in 2012, a fall of 1.9%. Scotland saw 5.65million fewer bus journeys than in 2012, a fall of 1.3%, and 42.1m fewer than in 2005, a fall of 9.1%.

London, by contrast, saw 14.4m more bus journeys than in 2012 (a rise of 0.6%), and 489.5million more than in 2005 (a rise of 26.4%).

Police are trying to trace two men following an assault on a bus in Tower Hamlets earlier this year.

A male passenger was assaulted on-board the D7 in Burdett Road E14 at about 8:45pm, on February 12, after he asked a group of males to turn their music down.
