Is the bus on the way out? Bus use fell everywhere in Britain in 2013 - except for London. Wales saw 2.16million fewer bus journeys than in 2012, a fall of 1.9%. Scotland saw 5.65million fewer bus journeys than in 2012, a fall of 1.3%, and 42.1m fewer than in 2005, a fall of 9.1%.

London, by contrast, saw 14.4m more bus journeys than in 2012 (a rise of 0.6%), and 489.5million more than in 2005 (a rise of 26.4%).

Police are trying to trace two men following an assault on a bus in Tower Hamlets earlier this year.

A male passenger was assaulted on-board the D7 in Burdett Road E14 at about 8:45pm, on February 12, after he asked a group of males to turn their music down.

The 25-year-old died at the scene in Bugsby's Way at the junction with Southern Way on Tuesday (April 17) following the rush hour incident, which happened at 5.10pm.

Shoppers get more buses to Westfield

The decision by Transport for London bosses to allow four extra bus routes to stop on the doorstep of the Westfield shopping centre has been welcomed.

The services changed yesterday and include the D8 service from the Isle of Dogs and the route 241 from Custom House.
