London Underground is preparing commuters for strikes next week as talks between the RMT and Tube bosses continue to falter.

Warnings have been placed at stations across the capital ahead of the 48 hour walkout which is due to begin on Monday evening.


Unions have suspended this week's industrial action on the Tube network following talks with London Underground bosses.

TSSA announced it was calling off the 48-hour walk-out, which was due to begin on Tuesday night, at around midday before the RMT released its statement at 1pm.

Hopes of thwarting more woe for commuters through a second two-day Tube strike were hanging in the balance.

Union officials and London Underground management resumed talks on Monday in a bid to stop the industrial action beginning at 9pm on Tuesday.


London Underground staff are being instructed by unions to open ticket barriers across the network on Friday.

And ticket inspectors are being told not to issue penalty fares during the action, which will take place from 9.30am to 11.30am and from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.


Union officials have accused London Underground of "ripping up the safety rule book" and called for a full enquiry into Wednesday morning's Tube operations.
