The arrival of commissioners Sir Ken Knight and Max Caller into Tower Hamlets Council has been hailed as a "fresh start" for the borough.

The Conservatives have welcomed Communities Secretary Eric Pickles' appointments, which will oversee various parts of the local authority's running.
