Excel to host table tennis finals next month

The world's top table tennis stars will be coming to Docklands in November for the Pro Tour Grand Finals.

The line-up at Excel has a combined total of six Olympic gold medals between them and includes the likes of Ryu Seung Min and Ma Lin.

excelnew142.jpgThe worlds best table tennis players will be fighting it out in east London later this year in preparation for the 2012 Olympics.

The International Table Tennis Federation's Pro Tour Grand Final will be staged at Excel from November 24-27. It will feature the world's top 16 seniors, seven doubles pairs and eight under-21s in both male and female tournaments.


A first class athlete helped launch the second of Royal Mail's London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games stamps at Newham Leisure Centre this week.

Docklands paraplegic table tennis player Jane Campbell, 41, from Limehouse, who is part of Team GB was there to celebrate her sport being featured on the new stamps titled On Track For 2012.
