325 penguins waddled onto Wood Wharf last night to break a world record for the largest gathering of people dressed as penguins, in aid of Richard House Children's Hospice.

aa-May12-SimonCowell.jpgX-Factor judge Simon Cowell was at Richard House Children's Hospice in Beckton on Wednesday to meet youngsters with life-threatening conditions.

The visit was to help raise awareness of the work of Children's Hospices UK for which Cowell is a patron. He spent time chatting to many of the sick children at the hospice who are not expected to reach adulthood.


Liverpool and England star Joe Cole has donated a weekend package at Anfield to raise money for Richard House Children's Hospice.

The former West Ham midfielder, who is a keen supporter of the Docklands charity, is offering four match tickets and paying for hotel and dinner in Liverpool for the group out of his own pocket.
