For some insane reason I thought we might have built on our last couple of decent away draws and manage to get three vital points against a Middlesbrough team challenging for the play-offs on Saturday.

I couldn't have been more wrong. A 5-1 home defeat is frankly pretty embarrassing and no less than we deserved.

Yet again Millwall had to go 2-0 down before starting to display that fighting spirit that we expect from a team representing our club.

After being all at sea away at second placed Bournemouth, the team did us proud in the second half to gain a point we scarcely believed would be possible.

A south-east London derby is the kind of match you want after an International break.

Our 3,100 allocation was snapped up in double-quick time despite our poor form this season, but this was not one of the best derbies.

Charlton goalkeeper Nick Pope said his opposite number saved Millwall from late defeat on Saturday.

Addicks striker George Tucudean nearly snatched victory for the hosts in injury-time but agonisingly couldn't get the ball over the line.
