Firefighters battled a blaze in Coldharbour on the Isle of Dogs after flats caught alight on Tuesday.

London Fire Brigade instructed residents in the block to remain in their homes to avoid smoke inhalation.


Tower Hamlets firefighters have issued a further eight days of strikes in a row over pensions.

Man escapes from Greenwich house fire

A major house fire in Greenwich saw a man flee to safety on Tuesday afternoon.

Four fire engines and 20 firefighters attended the blaze in Holburne Road off Shooters Hill Road which affected the downstairs of a terraced house.
