Fire crews tackling a warehouse blaze in Canning Town on Saturday night rescued a man from the first floor of the burning building.

Fifteen fire engines from across the capital and two cherry pickers were used in the incident at Shipman Road which began around 11pm.

The Jubilee line was suspended on Thursday after fire crews were called to Westminster Station.

London Fire Brigade arrived just after 1pm after an alarm was activated. They left the scene around 2pm but severe delays are continuing across the line.

Firefighters attending a call on Bonfire Night were attacked by a group of youths throwing fireworks.

Police were called to the incident at Robin Hood Gardens at Poplar on Tuesday at around 8.30pm. The fire crew were already there after a tree had been set on fire.

Two people were rushed to hospital after a mobile catering van burst into flames at the Blackheath Fireworks display on Saturday night.

London Fire Brigade was called at 10.20pm and spent an hour tackling the blaze. Crews from East Greenwich and Lee Green attended the scene.

Fire crews from across east London battled a blaze at a Canning Town waste recycling centre throughout Wednesday evening.

Around 60 firefighters attended the incident at Dock Road after being called just before midnight.
