Charlton were denied a fourth straight win due to a late Huddersfield equaliser in a controversial clash at The Valley.

The match saw the visitors playing with 10 men for most of the game before being given salvation in the form of a penalty in the dying minutes.

One of the favourites for promotion, Huddersfield have enjoyed mixed fortunes so far this campaign.

A big win away was followed by a home draw and then a heavy defeat to Peterborough, leaving the Addicks hoping to take advantage of the Terriers indifferent form when they travel to Yorkshire this weekend.

The Lions will be aiming to maul the Terriers on their home patch but will have to do it without the services of midfielder Liam Trotter.

Charlton earned a point thanks to a Kyel Reid leveller just before the hour to keep the Addicks within touching distance of second place.

It was the winger's third goal of the season and although they dropped to fifth, Charlton are only three points behind second-placed Leeds.

With the Addicks treatment at the point of collapse, this was the time for action and Phil Parkinson has certainly been busy.

Following defeat at Millwall and a draw at home to Gillingham, Charlton added Rob Elliot and Deon Burton to their extensive injury list.
