The Docklands Light Railway will be suspended from Bank and Tower Gateway to West India Quay and Poplar all weekend for engineering works.

The Jubilee line, meanwhile, will have no service from Finchley Road and Waterloo on Sunday until 11am.

A cross river DLR service linking Newham with Thamesmead and Abbey Wood has been proposed by Greenwich Council.

Reports of sexual violence on the DLR and London Underground have risen by 31% within the last financial year, according to the latest figures from British Transport Police (BTP).

The figures also showed a 9.5% increase in violence against a person on the network from March 2012-2013 (1,897) to March 2013-2014 (2077).

Calls have been made to rezone West Ham, Canning Town and four DLR station to increase the rate of regeneration in east London.

Newham Mayor Sir Robin Wales said it would be unfair not to make the changes after Stratford was given the go-ahead to move from Zone 2 to 2/3 by 2016.

Canary Wharf problem causes DLR delays

A points failure at Canary Wharf caused delays on the Docklands Light Railway network on Monday morning.

Trains were still operating in the area but were being driven manually. The incident occurred just before 10am and affected routes from Lewisham to Srratford.
