Antoni Malinowski - untitled (2000)

Antoni Malinowski works with pigment, light, movement and time.

His design for the Canada Place mall floor was decommissioned in 2008 but this untitled work was created to complement the original work.

The two canvases reflect the key elements, shoals of fish and river currents of the floor pattern.

Both are located in the mall, one opposite the lifts to the carpark on the north side and the other on the south, opposite the escalators to Jubilee Park.

The brilliant blue background is typical of the artist's trademark use of pure pigment.
Born in Poland in 1955, Antoni Malinowski studied at Warsaw Academy of Fine Art and Chelsea College of Art.

He currently lives and works in London
