Train like an Olympian in Stratford's Summer of Sweat
Those with aspirations to be the next Jessica Ennis-Hill or female fitness fans simply wanting a fresh challenge can take part in Summer of Sweat pop-up events across the capital until September.
The partnership between London Sport and fitness blog Lunges And Lycra sees Stratford's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park become the venue for Train Like An Olympian - a lunchtime session on September 6.
Participants can expect team sprints, strength work, high intensity cardio and burpees under the guidance of personal trainer Hendrick Famutini.
Meanwhile, Cyclebeat in Bank is urging girls to get on two wheels for Cycle To The Beat on September 10, and east London's Parkour Generations will be showcasing its running, jumping and climbing-based training for a pop up on September 20.
The programme is aimed at getting more women active after figures showed just 30% of those surveyed in Greater London took part in physical activity once a week.
A spokeswoman for Lunges And Lycra said: "We want to show fitness needn't be another chore to fit into your day, it's a fun and social activity that everyone can enjoy.
"There's so much more on offer than just pounding the treadmill or hitting the gym."
Pop-up events start at £7.50 each with discount packages costing £15-£30 for a minimum of six sessions also available.
