1 Tall Ships Festival

Greenwich will be awash will history and colour when the tall ships festival begins on Friday.

Running until Tuesday, it will see fireworks, parades and the opportunity to visit boats along the river.

2 Take a Thames Clippers ride

The capital's elite ferry service signed a deal with MBNA last week which will see a new boat and more announcements in the future.

Contactless payment is also set to arrive. If you haven't tried the service, give it a go.

3 Get a rice goody bag

Rice firm Tilda is heading to Canary Wharf on Friday to show off its range.

Pick up a voucher in this week's The Wharf newspaper and head to the Canary Wharf Tube station from midday to get a good bag and hot samples.

4 Paralympians head back to the Olympic Park

On Saturday the Aquatics Centre and Copper Box will be hosting a range of disability sports as the Olympic Park returns to its 2012 glory days.

National Paralympic Day will also see the Liberty Festival, showcasing talents of deaf and disabled artists.

5 Meatopia at Wapping

It will see a host of chefs cooking up treats in the second year the event has landed at Wapping.
