Sunday's Prudential RideLondon race promises major disruption across the capital's roads and Tower Hamlets, Newham and Greenwich will not be spared.

The race passes from the Olympic Park to central London via Canary Wharf and closures will begin at 5am.

The Blackwall Tunnel and Tower Bridge crossings will both be shut for part of the day.

Road closures will begin at 5am with reopenings happening in phases from 2pm. Transport for London is advising drivers not to go near the event route or, if that's not possible, then to allow for plenty of extra time for their journey.

The race will be run on fully closed roads. Parking will also be suspended along the route. TfL said the race would cause "significant impact".

On Saturday, mainly central London will be affected and Southwark and Westminster bridges will be closed.

Meanwhile, the London Overground will not be running between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction on Sunday.

The DLR and Jubilee line services will be running.
