Midnight Heat will make their first appearance as Wapping Hockey Club's new cheer leading squad this weekend.

The girls will show off their dance moves at the hockey team's club day at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre on August 30.

The Midnight Heat dancers are Europe's leading professional dance team and are the resident dance team for Britain's biggest basketball competition Midnight Madness.

They have also performed and worked with Rugby Legends, Sports Relief 2014, The Queens Baton Relay, and The Arsenal Foundation.

Wapping HC chair Stuart Burnside said: "Dance, as a sport, is something we can offer to complement and support our spectators experience at the National Stadium.

"This is a key part of our strategy. We want to bring hockey to a wider audience.

"We have hired excellent sporting professionals to perform and entertain our spectators.

"We have not hired promo girls to be decorative, we have hired fellow performance athletes to complement our core offering. To pick one example, Yasmin has represented GB at display gymnastics."

The team's club day takes place on August 30 at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford.
