This weekend's Jabberwocky Festival at the Excel Centre has been cancelled due to a lack of demand.

The organiser, ATP, said it had secured "healthy ticket sales" but not enough for them to be able to stage the event.

Barry Hogan of ATP added it had lost money on a "succession of events" in an "increasingly aggressive festival market".

James Blake was due to headline the event which was planned for Friday and Saturday at the Royal Docks venue.

Ticket holders are being advised to contact their original point of purchase for refunds.

An email address, feedback@atpfestival.com, has been provided for those who need to contact the organisers.

In a statement Excel said: "ExCeL London sincerely regrets that this decision has been taken and we apologise for any inconvenience caused to ticket holders."
