Since January, Deptford's property market has seen a surge in popularity. Estate agency Cannon Kallar, which has been serving the area for 14 years, believes it's all about connectivity.

Assistant manager Claire Saunders (below) said: "Deptford has a lot to offer in terms of transport links, for access into east London.

"There is Deptford Bridge DLR Station and London Bridge is one stop from Deptford station. The town is also not too far from New Cross Station on the Overground network.

"In addition to the great transport, Deptford High Street has a variety of outlets ranging from supermarkets to delicatessens.

"The town's market runs on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays offering a range of goods. You can pretty much pick up anything there."

There have also been numerous regeneration works in the past few years, including the newly approved Convoys Wharf scheme and the redevelopment of the rail station.

Claire said: "Deptford is still an affordable area in Zone 2 and compared with other locations in that bracket you get a lot more for your money here, which I think is one of the main factors for first-time buyers."

Those taking their first steps onto the ladder make up the largest group of new arrivals to the area and Claire said Cannon Kallar was ideally placed to help them out.

She said: "Being on Deptford High Street and having been in business in the area for more than 14 years helps us sell property in the area.

"Our staff members are highly trained, with two of our sales team qualified members of NAEA.

"We have a vast knowledge of the Deptford sales market and this helps us in securing business.

"Both our directors have been in the business their whole professional lives, amounting to 50 years experience between them.

"They've always worked in the south-east London area, and had dealings in Deptford.
"We rely on word of mouth as well, so customer service is a high priority of ours in order to obtain these recommendations."
